Pragati College Raipur , Chhattisgarh organises an inter class Singing and Music Competition, under its on going Jazz Session -2024

The competition started with performing Puja of the Goddess of Singing and Music Mother Saraswati by lightning the lamp and offering flowers . At the beginning of the competition the Principal of the College Dr. Saumya Nayyar welcomed the judges with flower bouquet and wished the students for success . In her inaugural speech, Dr. Soumya Nayyar said, life is a musical expression of God. Sweetness in life is possible only through music, she said .

On this occasion, the students presented musical expressions, showcasing their artistic talent one by one and groups and sung the beautiful songs in their melodious voices. All students in the auditorium enjoyed every performance and boost the confidence of the participants. Students sung the Hindi, Punjabi, Chhattisgarhi as well as motivational and devotional songs. All performances were judged by the invited judges. Mr. J.P. Sharma, Mr. Tilak Bhogal and Mr. Ghanshyam Mahanand.


The music competition started with Lakshika Yadav’s Chhattisgarhi song “Jaroor Abe Na”. College student Kajal, immersed in the devotion of Kanha, presented the song “O Kanha”. Leena and group gave a charming presentation of Chhattisgarhi song “Chhaiyan Muiyan”. Gaurav Verma, full of enthusiasm, sang a self-written “rap song” on which even the judges could not stop themselves from coming on stage. Maintaining the tradition of Chhattisgarh, Naveen Sahu gave a wonderful presentation of the state song “Arpa Pairi Ke Dhar” with the musical instrument harmonium. Ayush Sharma, who won everyone’s heart with his guitar tune, presented the song Khamoshiyan. Meanwhile, the chief guests of the program also forced everyone to dance with their songs. In today’s program, the students gave a wonderful presentation of the devotional songs of Shri Krishna and Shri Rama, along with these songs enthralled , everyone present there .

College Administrator Jyoti Thakur, Head of Commerce and Management Department Dr. Ramakrishna Rao, Head of Computer Department Mr. Mannu Ravani, Head of Education Department Dr. K. N. Gajpal, Head of Journalism Department Dr. Praveen Yadav and in-charge professors and students played a laudable role in making the event memorable .
