Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan from Okhla, Delhi, has been absconding for three days. He has not appeared before the police since the FIR was filed on Monday. Several teams of Delhi Police are searching for him in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab.
This was revealed in the case of a fugitive accused
An FIR was registered against him for allegedly leading the attack on the police team in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar. MLA Amanatullah Khan was protecting the accused Shavez Khan, who has been declared a PO (fugitive) by the court. Amanatullah Khan claimed yesterday that the Chavez who was caught by the crime branch team during the raid was on bail and he had shown the bail papers.
While according to the court documents, Chavez Khan has been declared a fugitive by the court. This same Chavez Khan was caught by the crime branch team in Jamia area, then Amanatullah and some of his supporters attacked the crime branch team and freed the accused from the police custody and made him abscond.
Amanatullah’s claim
Amanatullah has written a letter to the police commissioner alleging that he is being framed, but the police has rejected this claim. Notice has been pasted at his house twice. The police has accused him of helping criminals escape, obstructing government work and spoiling the atmosphere.
Amanatullah Khan wrote in a letter dated February 12, “Some people from Delhi Police are implicating me in a false case. The person whom the police came to arrest is on bail. The police is implicating me in a false case to hide its mistake.” He said that on Monday he was informed about the breakdown of some temporary pumps installed in his area. He had reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
