Raipur: BJP has intensified preparations for the urban body and three-tier panchayat elections in Chhattisgarh. Today is the second day of BJP’s marathon meeting. Along with this, BJP can soon announce district observers for the elections. Due to Cyclone Fenghan, there is cloudy and rainy weather in many districts of the state. Due to this, a lot of change was also recorded in the temperature. Due to the storm, flights from Chennai to Raipur and Pune have been cancelled. Apart from this, many religious and social programs have also been organised in Raipur today.
Chennai-Raipur-Pune flight cancelled
Raipur. Due to Cyclone Chengal, the flight from Chennai to Pune via Raipur was cancelled on Saturday. This flight reaches Raipur from Chennai at 3:20 pm every day and departs for Pune at 3:50 pm. This decision was taken due to the storm, due to which the passengers had to face inconvenience.
Weather of Chhattisgarh
The effect of Cyclone Chengal is visible in the southern parts of Chhattisgarh. Light rain was recorded in various areas of Bastar division on Saturday due to increased humidity. In Raipur also, there was drizzle in some areas in the evening. Since Sunday morning, many areas including the capital are cloudy. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of humidity will remain in the state for the next three-four days, due to which the weather is likely to remain cold and hot.

Gayatri Mahayagya
21 Kundiya Gayatri Mahayagya and free Sanskar Mahotsav are being organized under the patronage of Gayatri Parivar in Boriyakhurd. Dhyan Sadhna and Prajna Yoga session was organized at 6 am. Mahayagya, various rites, purnahuti and prasad distribution program will be completed from 8 am to 2 pm.
Mahalakshmi Pujan and Havan
Shri Sitaram Seva Samiti is organizing Mahalakshmi Pujan and Havan under the Swarnotsav celebrations at Srilalita Devi Temple in Santipara. From 8 am, there will be Kunkumarchan of Saubhagya Lakshmi, Maha Aarti and Annadaan at 10 am. Mahabhandaar will be organized for the devotees at 1 pm.
Parichay Sammelan
The youth-woman parichay sammelan will be organized by World Brahmin Federation and Sarv Yuva Brahmin Parishad at Geeta Bhawan in Mathpara from 10 am to 5 pm. Similarly, Chhattisgarh Sarv Gadaria Samaj Mahasangh will organize parichay sammelan at Desha Gadaria Samaj Bhawan located at Mahadev Ghat Raipura.
Rangoli and Drawing Competition
Sindhi Sahitya Biradari Mandal Raipur will organise Rangoli, Drawing, and Video Presentation Competitions at Sindhu Palace, Shankar Nagar. From 5:30 pm onwards, there will be special competitions of presentation in Sindhi language by children and women.
