NCP chief Sharad Pawar has supported West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s statement of ‘willing to lead India alliance’. He said that Mamata Banerjee’s stance is aggressive. She has raised many people. She has every right to say so. Mamata Banerjee has the ability to lead the India alliance.
In a press conference in Kolhapur, Sharad Pawar said that the opposition need not worry after the victory of Mahayuti in the Maharashtra elections. It is true that we have lost. The opposition Mahavikas Aghadi will work so that the government fulfills all the promises made before its election. This also includes the promise of increasing the financial assistance under the Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana from 1500 to 2100.
On the other hand, regarding the selection of the leader of opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly of Mahavikas Aghadi, Sharad Pawar said that the political parties of MVA should not insist on it. Because they do not have the required numbers. On the position of the opposition, he said that the strength of the opposition in the assembly is very less. But there are many young MLAs here who will raise issues after one or two sessions.
On the announcement of Maharashtra Samajwadi Party chief Abu Azmi leaving MVA, Sharad Pawar said that the central leadership of SP has maintained opposition unity. Apart from this, on finding a bundle of 500 rupee notes in the Rajya Sabha, Sharad Pawar said that it should be investigated how the bundle reached the seat of MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi? Performance of parties in Maharashtra assembly elections
In the recently held assembly elections in Maharashtra, the main contest was between the Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi alliances. In which Mahayuti has won 230 out of 288 assembly seats. Whereas Maha Vikas Aghadi could get only 46 seats out of 288. In this, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena UBT won 20 seats, Congress won 16 and Sharad Pawar’s NCP-SP won only 10 seats.
