Raipu: A delegation from the Chhattisgarh State NHM Employees Union met with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at the Chief Minister’s residence in Raipur on Friday September 19, 2025 . The delegation expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for the fulfillment of their key demands and informed him of the decision to call off the statewide strike.
The delegation informed Chief Minister Sai that NHM employees across the state will return to work tomorrow.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai welcomed the decision by National Health Mission (NHM) employees to end the strike, calling it a commendable step in the state’s interest.
The Chief Minister said that the Chhattisgarh government considers every employee a part of its family and has always been sensitive to their legitimate demands. He stated that public health is our top priority, and the government has always taken concrete initiatives in this direction.
Chief Minister Sai stated that this decision by the NHM employees will further strengthen the state’s health services and provide the public with excellent and accessible medical facilities. He expressed confidence that through the collective efforts of the government and employees, Chhattisgarh will move towards a better, healthier, and brighter future.
It is noteworthy that the NHM employees went on strike over their ten-point demands. The state government has met four of these demands. A committee has been formed to address the remaining three demands, while a decision is pending with the Government of India on the demands related to merger, public health cadre, and reservation.
Earlier, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal expressed gratitude for the end of the strike on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. He stated that every employee in the state is a family member and that the NHM employees have taken a commendable decision in the state’s interest by ending the strike.
On this occasion, MLA Kiran Deo Singh , Dr Amit Miri, Dr Ravi Shankar Dixit, Puran Das, Kaushalesh Tiwari, Hemant Sinha, Dinesh Chandra, Santosh Chandel, Prafulla Pal, Dr Devkant Chaturvedi and other members from Chhattisgarh State NHM Employees Union were present.
