Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was described by former Congress President Sonia Gandhi as an epitome of wisdom, nobility and humility who served our country with all his heart and mind. Sonia Gandhi said that a beloved guide to the Congress party, his compassion and vision changed the lives of millions of Indians.

In a statement, the former Congress president said, “The people of India loved him for his kind heart and great intellect. His counsel, wise advice and views were keenly listened to across the political spectrum of our country, and were greatly respected. Leaders and scholars across the world revered him for his immense intellect.”
