Lucknow Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has received a setback from the Lucknow bench of the High Court on Thursday in the case of making alleged derogatory remarks on the army. The court has rejected his petition by refusing to give him relief in the case. A complaint has been filed against Rahul Gandhi in a Lucknow court alleging that he had made alleged derogatory remarks on the army during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. During the hearing on the complaint, Rahul has been summoned by the local court. Rahul had challenged this summoning order in the petition. A single bench of Justice Subhash Vidyarthi ordered the dismissal of the petition in open court. Additional Advocate General Vinod Kumar Shahi, who appeared on behalf of the state government, opposed the petition. Shahi said that the court has said that the detailed order will be issued on Monday (June 2).

The complaint against Rahul alleges that Rahul Gandhi was walking during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. During this time he had commented on the army. Rahul had said that no one asks anything about the beating of Indian soldiers by Chinese soldiers. Uday Shankar Srivastava filed a complaint against him in a local court of Lucknow on this comment made about the soldiers. On which the court summoned Rahul Gandhi as an accused. After this, challenging the summons, Rahul Gandhi filed this petition in the High Court, on which after the initial hearing, the court refused to give relief to Rahul Gandhi and dismissed the petition.
