Waqf Amendment Bill: Kiren Rijiju said- Process of introducing Waqf Bill in Parliament has started; will answer every question

The central government has once again made it clear that the Waqf Amendment Bill will be introduced in this session of Parliament. Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the government is ready to answer all the questions of the opposition. He said that the process of introducing the Waqf Bill in Parliament has been started. Let us tell you that earlier Union Home Minister Shah had also said that the government will introduce the Waqf Amendment Bill in the budget session of Parliament itself.

Wakf Amendment Bill in the interest of poor Muslims, children and women
He made it clear that everyone has the right to criticize, but it should have some basis. Many organizations are supporting the bill, going beyond religious commitments and beliefs. The bill is in the interest of poor Muslims, children and women. This will ensure accountability and transparency in the management of properties under the Wakf Board.

Government claims – most comprehensive consultation ever in the history of India
During the press conference, Rijiju said, the government is preparing to introduce the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament, appeals to all to participate in the debate and discussion in the House. He said that outside Parliament, a record number of consultations and discussions have taken place. The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) has set a record of the most comprehensive consultation process and highest representation ever in the history of democratic India. Rijiju said that the bill is ready, he would like to request all political parties to participate in the discussion and put their views on the floor of Parliament. He appealed to the opposition not to mislead.

Appeal for support from Kerala MPs, Rijiju welcomed
Earlier today, the Catholic Bishops Council of Kerala (KCBC) appealed to the MPs of the state to support this bill of the Central Government. Sharing this letter on his official X handle, Rijiju said, being a member of the minority community himself, he welcomes this appeal. Let us tell you that Union Minority Affairs Minister Rijiju is a follower of Buddhism. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar himself had also underlined his identity and called it a proud fact for India.

Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on Waqf Amendment Bill
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday clarified that the Waqf Amendment Bill sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) in August 2024 will be re-introduced in the current budget session of Parliament. He said, ‘We will introduce the Waqf Bill in this session itself.’ Let us tell you that the budget session will end on April 4. Shah said that no one needs to be afraid of the proposed law. The Narendra Modi government is amending the Waqf Act within the ambit of the Constitution. He said, ‘The opposition is misleading Muslims. No rights of Muslims will be curbed. They are just lying.’
