Delhi Chief Minister Atishi had on Sunday appealed to the people for crowd funding to contest the assembly elections. She also said that she needs Rs 40 lakh to contest the elections. After her appeal, the Aam Aadmi Party has received help of more than Rs 10 lakh in just a few hours.
New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Atishi had on Sunday appealed to the people for help to contest the assembly elections. She had said that we need crowd funding to contest the elections and a total of Rs 40 lakh is needed. Within just four hours of her appeal, she has received donations of Rs 1032000.
According to the information, Chief Minister Atishi has received donations of Rs 1032000 from 176 donors so far. Looking at the speed at which she is getting help for election funding, it is believed that she will get funding of Rs 40 lakh in a few hours.
The Chief Minister had made this appeal
The Chief Minister of Delhi had said that I need 40 lakh rupees to contest the elections. In such a situation, you people can help us from 100 to 1000 rupees. Which will help us to contest the elections.
Aatishi had appealed to the people and said that even earlier the people of Delhi have supported AAP. Small contributions from the people have helped us to contest and win the elections. The poorest people of Delhi have supported us with the smallest amount of 10 to 100 rupees. Apart from Delhi, people from other parts of the country have also helped me.
Voting will be held on February 5
Voting will be held on 5 February in a single phase for 70 assembly seats in Delhi, while the results will be declared on February 8. The ruling AAP won the 2015 and 2020 elections with 67 and 62 seats respectively and aims to make a hat-trick in the capital. According to the Election Commission, there are more than 1.55 crore voters in Delhi this time. In which the number of male voters is 83,49,645 and the number of female voters is 71,73,952. At the same time, the number of third gender is 1,261.
Kejriwal government worked for the people: CM
The Chief Minister also said that the honest politics of AAP was positive that we did not ask for money from corporates or capitalists. The biggest problem is that candidates and parties take funds from big giants and then work for them and pay in the form of contract. But the Kejriwal government worked for the common people, because they help us fight. If we had taken money from the bigwigs, we would not have been able to provide free water, electricity, mohalla clinics and education.
