A Maharashtra Court issues a Non-bailable arrest warrant to Raj Thackeray for inflammatory speeches.

Mumbai.: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena founder president Raj Thackeray has been issued an arrest warrant (non-bailable) by the second first class magistrate in Nilanga on Friday August 30 , due to which Raj Thackeray will have to appear in the Nilanga court. Earlier, a few years ago, he appeared in the Nilanga court in the same case. Sixteen years ago, a case was registered against Raj Thackeray in the case of arson and vandalism of a corporation bus by MNS workers.

In 2008, MNS workers from Nilanga set a corporation bus on fire at Udgir Mode. In this connection, a case has been registered against eight people at Nilanga police station. Raj Thackeray was also among them, earlier he had to appear in the court of Nilanga as the Nilanga court had cancelled his bail. Lawyers had requested Raj Thackeray to drop the case as it was not possible for him to come to the Nilanga court on every date. He had also got bail at that time. However, due to not appearing on the date, the court has once again issued an arrest warrant against MNS president Raj Thackeray.

The then taluka pramukh and three others appeared in court on Friday August 30 . The warrant issued by them was not executed. Therefore, the court cancelled the bail of all four. Then the court imposed a fine and ordered a new bail for all four. Yesterday on Saturday August 31 a bail was granted through a lawyer.

But since Raj Thackeray and then MNS district chief Abhay Solunke were not present, the police had to produce them in Nilanga court as the (non-bailable) arrest warrant has been issued again. The court here has ordered the police to produce Raj Thackeray and Abhay Solunke. So after six years, Raj Thackeray will have to appear in Nilanga court once again. He is the eighth accused in this case for giving inflammatory speeches.
