Delhi excise policy case: Supreme Court to decide on Kejriwal’s fate tomorrow

New Delhi : The Supreme Court will hear the bail plea of ​​Kejriwal, who is in jail, tomorrow on 13 September. Tomorrow it will be decided whether Kejriwal will get bail or not. Kejriwal, who is in jail, has challenged his arrest by the CBI in the liquor scam case.

He has sought interim appeal from the court . Kejriwal was arrested by ED on 26 March. The Supreme Court had granted him interim bail. He is still in jail, as he has not got bail in the CBI case.

Evidence can be tampered with

This bench includes Justice Suryakant and Ujjwal Bhuiyan. This bench will hear the decision reserved on 5 September. CBI had argued that if Arvind Kejriwal is released on bail, he can tamper with the evidence related to the liquor scam case. Also, he can hinder the ongoing investigation. Due to this, the investigating agencies and the court may face challenges in giving the verdict.

Knocked the door of the Supreme Court

After this, on August 5, the Delhi High Court rejected Kejriwal’s bail plea in this case and he was asked to apply for bail in the trial court. Due to this, Kejriwal filed a bail plea in the Supreme Court. After this, on August 14, the Supreme Court sought a reply from the CBI, but at that time refused to grant bail.

Liquor scam money used in Goa elections

CBI arrested Kejriwal on 26 June. At that time Kejriwal was in judicial custody of ED in the money laundering case. Kejriwal and other Aam Aadmi Party leaders are accused of creating loopholes while making Delhi liquor policy. Due to these loopholes, Kejriwal has knowingly provided illegal benefits to liquor traders. In this way, he is accused of hatching a criminal conspiracy. Investigating agencies have alleged that the money obtained from this scam was used by Aam Aadmi Party during Goa elections.
