Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has congratulated and wished the people of the state on the occasion of World Tourism Day on 27 September.
In his congratulatory message, Sai has said that World Tourism Day is organised to increase awareness about the importance of tourism. CM has said that Chhattisgarh is a state full of tourism possibilities. Many places here are associated with our ancient mythological and cultural heritage. There are many places of religious and mythological, spiritual, historical and archaeological importance along with picturesque places of natural beauty. Rivers, waterfalls, natural tourist places covered with dense forests automatically attract tourists.
The state government is trying to promote tourism by developing these places. The Chief Minister has said that the ancient Dandakaranya forest and the birthplace of Mata Kaushalya are our pride. Chitrakote waterfall on Indravati river, the famous Laxman temple of Sirpur and Dussehra of Bastar are famous all over the country. It is believed that Mahakavi Kalidas composed Meghdoot in the hills of Ramgarh in Chhattisgarh. It has the oldest theatre. Sai has said that the tourism landscape and cultural tradition of Chhattisgarh is unique. The state government is making efforts to introduce the country and the world to the mythological importance and beauty of Chhattisgarh.
