Raipur: Chhattisgarh has received an advance tax devolution of ₹3,602 crore from the Union Government as part of the nationwide release of ₹1,09,019 crore to states, a move that Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary said would significantly strengthen the state’s development agenda and accelerate public welfare programmes.
Welcoming the Centre’s decision, Choudhary expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, describing the advance tax transfer as a strong reflection of cooperative federalism and the Centre’s commitment to empowering states financially.
“The advance tax devolution of ₹3,602 crore will provide fresh momentum to infrastructure development, strengthen the implementation of welfare schemes and accelerate ongoing development works across Chhattisgarh,” Choudhary said.
Timely Financial Support to Strengthen Development
The Finance Minister noted that timely transfer of tax revenues enhances the fiscal capacity of states, enabling governments to implement projects efficiently and ensure faster delivery of public services.
He said the additional financial resources would help the state maintain the pace of infrastructure expansion while supporting key social welfare initiatives.
