Amitabh Bachchan is never seen sharing family matters like that. His father Harivansh Rai Bachchan was a famous poet, this fact is not known to many. Harivansh Rai Bachchan got married not once but twice, a news unknown to many. Amitabha is the child of his second wife Teji Bachchan. What happened to Harivansh ‘s first wife? Was death the result?

Harivansh Rai Bachchan first married Shyama Bachchan. They got married with great pomp in 1926. Happy married life, everything was going well. But happiness is not permanent. Within a few years of his marriage, she was struck with tuberculosis. At that time the medical system was not that advanced. Despite thousands of attempts, it was not possible to save her. Shyama died within a few days. Harivansh broke down after his wife’s tragic death. Bringing that context to light, Amitabh said, “My father’s first wife died. After this he left in a strange situation. Despair continues to consume him gradually. The poems he wrote at that time were filled with sadness.

It is in such a situation that Harivansh Rai Bachchan later introduced and talked with Teji Bachchan. But fact remain with him . Marry for the second time. Amitabh Bachchan got born within a year of marriage. His father remained responsible towards Shayama ‘s death till the last day of his life.
