Preparations underway to bring impeachment motion against Justice Yashwant Verma in monsoon session, this is the government’s plan

At least 100 MPs’ signatures are required for the proposal in Lok Sabha. Opposition parties have assured support to the government. They have started collecting signatures of MPs on the proposal. Opposition MPs will also sign this proposal. An inquiry committee will be formed after the proposal is presented.

The government may bring a proposal to remove Justice Yashwant Verma of Allahabad High Court, who is facing charges of cash being recovered from his house. The government may bring a proposal in the monsoon session of Parliament to remove Justice Verma.

Let us tell you that in March this year, 15 crore cash was recovered from Justice Verma’s house. The Supreme Court’s internal inquiry committee held him guilty. Justice Verma has refused to resign.

The monsoon session of Parliament will run from 21 July to 12 August. During this time, an impeachment motion can be brought to remove Justice Verma. If the impeachment motion is passed, this will be the first impeachment proceeding in the new Parliament building.
