78th Independence Day Live: PM Modi hoisted the tricolor at the Red Fort, addressed the nation for the 11th consecutive time, paid tribute to Bapu at Rajghat

The country is celebrating its 78th Independence Day today. On this occasion, PM Narendra Modi has hoisted the tricolor flag at the Red Fort. This is the 11th time that the Prime Minister has hoisted the flag from the Red Fort on Independence Day for the 11th consecutive time.

Modi has become the Prime Minister who has hoisted the flag at the Red Fort the most number of times after the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. PM Modi is addressing the country, the theme of which has been kept as ‘Developed India @ 2047’. Its objective is to take forward the government’s efforts towards transforming India into a developed nation by the centenary of independence in 2047.
