CJI Chandrachud made a big announcement: Now all cases in the Supreme Court will be telecast live

Taking an important decision, the Supreme Court has decided to live stream the hearing of all the cases. An app to live stream all the benches of the apex court is in the final stage of testing, till now only the hearing of cases before the Constitution Bench was live streamed, but on the initiative of Chief Justice Justice DY Chandrachud, it has been decided to extend it to all the benches. This is the first time that day-to-day hearing is being live streamed.

In 2022, following the COVID-19 pandemic, the Supreme Court streamed three Constitution Benches live on YouTube and other social media platforms for the first time, which has continued and expanded to all courts. On 27 September 2022, three Constitution Benches of the Supreme Court were live-streamed for the first time, with over 8 lakh people watching.

The Supreme Court later said that the move would address the challenges of remote people and provide an opportunity to people from across the country to watch Supreme Court proceedings.

Justice DY Chandrachud is known for doing a lot during his tenure. He has not only tried to bring improvement and transparency in the allocation of cases using technology, but has also brought a big change in the system of speedy hearing. He will retire on November 10, and Justice Sanjiv Khanna will be the next Chief Justice of the country.
