Mumbai : Maharashtra government has issued an order today on Monday September 30 declaring cow as the mother of the state. It is written in the order that the government has decided that cow has importance in Indian culture since Vedic period. Desi cow’s milk is suitable for human diet. Considering the importance of Ayurveda treatment system, Panchgavya treatment system, cow urine organic farming system, cow is now being declared as the mother of the state.
Uttarakhand is the first state
Uttarakhand is the first state in India to declare the cow as “Rajmata” or “Rashtramata”. The Uttarakhand Assembly passed a resolution in this regard on September 19, 2018, demanding the status of Rashtramata to the cow. This resolution was passed unanimously and it was sent to the central government. Now the cabinet of Shinde government of Maharashtra has given the status of Rajmata.
What is the importance of cow?
In India, the cow is given the status of mother and there is a law to worship it in Hinduism. Apart from this, its milk, urine and cow dung are considered sacred and are also used in abundance. Cow’s milk is very beneficial for the human body, while cow urine is claimed to cure many diseases.
