Janjgir : If you are not able to visit the world famous Wat Arun Dev Temple (Arun Pagoda) in Thailand, then there is no need to worry too much. Because on the lines of this temple, a grand Durga Pandal is being celebrated in Janjgir-Nelli of Chhattisgarh. The Durga Pandal constructed here is quite famous in the whole country for its different themes. Here the Goddess is also adorned with real diamond and gold jewellery.
This year, the world famous Wat Arun Dev Temple (Mandir of Dawn) of Bangkok (Thailand) will be seen in Janjgir-Naila. The Maa Durga Pandal being built in its replica is taking shape. Durga Utsav is being celebrated in Agrasen Bhawan Janjgir-Naila by changing the location of Railway Station Janjgir-Naila by Shri Shri Durga Puja Utsav Samiti.
The grand lighting and laser show of Burj Khalifa Dubai fame will be the main attraction here. A grand statue of the Goddess of 35 feet height will be installed in the pandal. She will be riding on a golden chariot of 5 huge lions.
Keeping the tradition of 41 years intact, Durga Utsav is being organised in a grand form by Shri Shri Durga Utsav Samiti. Durga Utsav of Janjgir-Naila has a special fame in the whole country.

The pagoda of Wat Arun temple is world famous. Wat Arun Rattavararam means the temple of dawn. In Thailand it is also called Wat Cheng. This temple is named after Arun, the god of dawn, which is located on the western bank of the Chao Phraya river on the Thonburi side. It is considered to be the most visible and famous place in Bangkok.
The main feature of the temple is its central prang (pagoda). It is considered to be a stupa-like pagoda studded with colorful faience. Its height is said to be 219 feet and 282 feet. There is a 7 pointed trident on the top which is considered to be the trident of Lord Shiva.
